What can I expect the day I receive microdermabrasion therapy?
Your microdermabrasion therapy session will take approximately 30 minutes. First, your skin care specialist will thoroughly cleanse your face. Then they will use a crystal applicator to exfoliate your skin by gently gliding it back and forth over the entire area of facial tissue. It will feel like a gritty facial massage, and you may experience a minor tugging sensation. Once treatment is complete, your specialist will moisturize your skin and give you detailed after care instructions.
What is recovery like after microdermabrasion therapy?
Your skin will be pink and slightly tender for approximately 24 hours after microdermabrasion. You can return to regular activities immediately following treatment, but do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours. Be sure to keep your freshly exfoliated skin well moisturized to maximize results. Avoid sun exposure for at least three days after your microdermabrasion session.
Do I need to follow a special skin care routine after receiving microdermabrasion therapy?
Your skin care specialist at Skin And Cancer Institute will give you detailed after care instructions based on your skin type and specific needs. Be sure to keep your freshly exfoliated skin well moisturized to maximize results, and don’t forget to wear plenty of sunscreen in the weeks following your microdermabrasion treatment.
When will I see results after my microdermabrasion and how long does it last?
Once your skin has healed from treatment, you will immediately see visible skin refinement, even after just one microdermabrasion session. It may take a few sessions to achieve optimal results. Continued microdermabrasion treatments are highly recommended to maintain skin health.
